CLAT 2017 Notification Details:

CLAT 2017 Notification: Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2017) is known to be one of the most vital and known law entrance exams. It is conducted every year in the month of May at the national level to grant admission to the right candidates in the Integrated L.L.B and L.L.M. programs offered by the 17 National Law Universities also known as NLUs. The exam is organised under the guidance of these NLUs on the rotational basis. CLAT 2016 was conducted and managed by the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab.

The candidates who are planning to appear for the CLAT 2017 should note that the CLAT 2017 Exam Notification will be published officially in the month of December and the CLAT 2017 Application Form will be available from the month of January 2017. CLAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria-

Educational Qualification: For UG programs, the candidates must have cleared 12th or the candidates who are waiting for the 12th result can appear for the exam.  The applicants from general category should have cleared 12th from a recognised board with the minimum of 45% marks and 40% minimum for SC/ST category candidates.

For PG programs, the applicants from general category should have cleared LLB from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks and from SC/ST category should score 50% marks in their LLB degree.

Age Limit: There is no age bar for appearing in CLAT. So, the candidates can appear for the exam once they meet the above-mentioned eligibility criteria, irrespective of their age.

Important Dates for CLAT 2017 (Tentative Schedule)

  • Registration Period –1st week of January 2017 to last week of March 2017
  • Registration Ends In – last week of March 2017
  • Issue of Admit cards– Mid of April 2017
  • The date of exam for CLAT 2017– 1stto 2ndweek of May 2017
  • Declaration of the Result– 3rd to 4th week of May 2017
  • Admission will begin from – 4th week of May to 1st week of July 2017
  • Admission Closed In– 1st week of July 2017

Application Fee 

  • For General Category Candidates – Rs. 4000/-
  • For Reserved Category Candidates – Rs. 3500/-

Payment can be done via online mode by using either net banking or debit card or credit card.

Examination Pattern

For Admission To UG Courses–

  • The duration of the test will be 2 hours.
  • There will be total 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs).
  • For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded.
  • For each wrong answer, 1/4th marks will be subtracted.

For Admission To PG Courses–

  • The duration of the test will be 2 hours.
  • There will be total 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs).
  • For each correct answer, one mark will be awarded.
  • For each wrong answer, 1/4th marks will be subtracted.
