GATE Exam Review of 31 January 2016 Mechanical Question Paper:

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted every year by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore for the selection of the most deserving students for admission in postgraduate courses in several IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) and IIScs. GATE Exam Analysis 2016:

GATE 2016 was successfully completed on the 31st of January 2016 in morning and evening shifts. The candidates aspiring to obtain a post-graduation degree from an IIT or IISc have appeared in the exam. The turnout of applicants was huge, and they are now eager to see the GATE 2016 exam analysis and the answer key. The answer key has not yet been officially released by the IISc website, but is expected to be released within a few days.

The examination paper consisted of a total of 60 questions worth a total of 100 marks. 10 out of these questions were based on General Aptitude, and were to be answered by applicants of every stream. The remaining questions were based on the respective other subjects. The paper contained 1 mark and 2 mark questions, of which those carrying 1 mark were obviously easier to answer.

There are two kinds of questions in the exam, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Questions. The overall level of difficulty has been observed to be relatively high this year. Also, it was for the first time this year that students were allowed to use virtual calculators in the exam. Further information regarding GATE 2016 can be found on the official website.
