NEET 2017 Notification and Exam Details:

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET), a national level medical entrance exam proposed by CBSE and Medical Council of India (MCI) got a nod from the Supreme Court of India. With the approval from the apex court, NEET has replaced the existing MBBS Admission entrance exam, BDS Admission entrance exam and all medical entrance exam effective 2016. Now, all medical aspirants have to appear for one single examination for admission to MBBS or BDS courses offered by all government and private medical or dental colleges respectively. The examination will be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) once every year.

NEET 2017 Exam notification will be out tentatively in November 2016 and NEET application form 2017 for the test will be available online through the official website communicated by CBSE tentatively from the 1st Week of December, 2016. The NEET 2017 exam date will be tentatively fall in the month of May, 2017 and the results will be announced by June, 2017.

How to fill NEET 2017 Application form:

The candidates need to be ready with the documents required along with the following:

  • The scanned image of his/her latest photograph in the JPG format. The size of the image must be between 10 Kb and 100Kb.
  • The scanned image of his/her signature in the JPG format. The size of the image must be between 3 Kb and 20 Kb.
  • The scanned image of his/her right hand index finger impression in JPG format. The size of the image must be between 3 Kb and 20 Kb.

The application fee can be remitted through any of the debit/credit card using the online payment gateway or through the e-wallet of common services center. Also, the fee can be remitted through e-challan at the counter at anyone of the branches of Sydicate Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India.

The candidates appearing for the test can opt for question paper in one of the languages, i.e. Hindi or English while filling in the application form. The option exercised cannot be changed once opted. The question paper for the test shall be based on the common syllabus communicated by Medical Council of India.

NEET 2017 Eligibility: All Indian nationals between the age group of 17 years and 25 years with Physics, Chemistry and Biology at Senior Secondary level can appear for the test provided they secure a minimum of 50 per cent marks in PCB at senior secondary level. A relaxation by a period of 5 years has been extended for the candidates from SC/ST/OBCs. Admit cards for the test could be downloaded by the candidates who has successfully completed the application form and remitted the fee from the Board’s website.

The NEET will be a paper based examination wherein candidate will be provided will question paper and OMR answer sheet. There will be 4 sections in the question paper, i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Botany and Zoology with 180 questions in total. Each section will have 45 questions respectively. All the questions asked will be objective types. The answers need to be marked on the OMR sheet. The candidates will have to fill in all their details on OMR sheet before marking the answers.
