One can sieve through various colleges by checking them against their world rank, provided on the web freely. Since the ranks keep changing every -year owing to diversified metrics, there are usually some evergreen colleges like which generally do not see a substantive shift in terms of ranks are University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, London School oF Economics and Political Science.
Rankings are important, but should NOT be the sole parameter to choose a university. Stress on the program and department/school.
