The Universities and Colleges in America have arrangements to offer students a Practical Training Course that authorizes the students to work as paid Interns inside the Campus. They can work during the day and attend classes at evenings or on the weekends. Students are paid wages on a daily basis. By is availing this work and study opportunity the students can work on a part-time or on a full-time basis and can earn regular wages easily.

Rules for Work and Study in USA

There are rules for International Students for availing the Work and Study Program in the USA. If you are going on a student VISA, then you can work up to 20 hours per week during the first year of your course of study. However during the holidays, it can extend up to 40 hours per week.  During the first year the students are only allowed to work on the college campus, may be the library, the cafeteria or the gym. After the lapse of one year, you may apply for the position of a Residential Assistant (RA) to look after the issues that the students may come up with. An RA is given a free accommodation along with a one time meal and also a salary. Apart from this during the second year of your study in the college, you become eligible for CPT, which is a Curriculum practical Training Program that allows the students to work outside the campus for 20 hours in every week.

Permanent Work Permit

After your graduation, you can apply for OPT, which is a Practical optical Training that allows International Students to work for 1 year after the final Examinations are over. You will be allowed to work in a field which is related to your major subjects in the course of your study. However, this time, the period can be extended if the employer under whom you are working approves your continuation of the work in the US.

Thus, there are facilities to work and study in USA. You have to abide by the rules of the college in which you have taken admission and set your goals right. Then reaching the pinnacle of success will be easier.
