The University of Alberta is also referred as UAlberta. It was established in 1908 by the first chief of Alberta, Alexander Cameron Rutherford and Henry Marshall Tony was the first president. It is a public research university situated in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The motto of the university is ?Whatsoever Things Are True? and It is also a member of the Alberta Rural Development Network. The university has about 15,000 employees this is why the university is the fourth largest employer of Alberta. Approximately 39,000 students from Canada and 150 other countries take part in 400 programs in 18 faculties.
The University is ranked as one of the top five universities in Canada and one of the top 100 universities in world by Times Higher Education World University, QS World University.
Campus
The University has four campuses and each campus is situated in the beautiful places and all the campuses are more than just a class for students.
North Campus: - This campus takes over approx 230 acres of land and it is situated in Southern banks of the North Saskatchewan River. This campus is home for more than 39,000 students. It is surrounded by nature?s beauty like river and valley.
South campus: -This campus is situated A few kilometres south from the north campus, This campus is bigger in space than the other campuses, The campus also have a Seville Community Sports centre and it is spread over 32,500 square metre of land. This sports centre provides recreational facilities for students.
Campus Saint Jean: - This campus is also known as CSJ and it is situated in five kilometres east from the main campus in Edmonton?s Francophone Neighbourhood. This campus?s population is 750 students this is why the students can easily get involve in the campus. The Bibliotheque Saint Jean is the biggest francophone library in western Canada.
Augustana Campus: -This campus is situated in a small city in rural Alberta, camrose. The campus population is 1,000 and you will easily get all the facilities.
