Overview
The University of Northampton is a public university, established in the year 1975. Its setting is suburban. The main campus is located in Northampton, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. After the consolidation of numerous training colleges, in the year 2005, this university gained its full status as the University of Northampton. The university was accredited in the year 1992 by Privy Council. It is affiliated to European University Association (EUA), Million+ and Universities UK. It?s a non-profit organization. The university functions on the motto ?Transforming lives, inspiring change?.
University of Northampton has been ranked by Complete at #62, by The Guardian at #47 and by Times/Sunday Times at #59 nationally for the year 2015/16. In a national conference held in June 2011 at the UnLtd/HEFCE, the university bagged ?The Outstanding HEI Supporting Social Entrepreneurship Award?. The university has joined a global network of 20 Changemaker Campus. It is the first university in Northampton to join this network.
Campus
The university is spread over two allied campuses. Park Campus located at Kingsthorpe and Avenue Campus is located at north town centre, opposite to the racecourse. Millions of pounds have been invested by the university for providing world for providing top notch facilities to both the campus. The campus is centrally located in the city of England. Bars, shops, restaurants and other such facilities can be easily accessed from the campus.

Student Facilities
The recently renovated students union building at the Avenue Campus offers a bar & diner and homes radio station and newspaper office run by the University of Northampton Students? Union. The students? union organizes events across both the campuses. On Park Campus daytime bar & food outlet, sports activities, live bands and club nights are hosted. On Avenue Campus, wide range of entertainments like karaoke and quiz nights are organized by the union.
More than 25 sports clubs and 22 sports teams are owned by the university. The basketball team of this university competes in the English Basketball National League and is one of the most successful teams on campus.
Accommodation
From private sector accommodation to on campus halls of residence, well maintained housing are provided by the University of Northampton. Single-sex halls as well as co-ed halls are offered by the university. On campus halls of residence have full access to university network and are provided with free WiFi access. 24x7 security and support teams are allocated for students? safety. First priority is given to first year students and disabled students. Students from UK can reside for 42 weeks while students from EU can reside for 43 weeks.
